First lady Jill Biden met with Colorado leaders Monday to hear from local lawmakers about needs their districts face, stories from students about how they’ve benefited from state job training programs, and how Colorado has made use of federal legislation.Biden chose Denver to kick off a tour that will highlight a slew of federal laws championed by President Joe Biden. Colorado Front Range firefighters were mopping up three grassfires in the metro Denver and Colorado Springs areas Monday while the 403 fire in mountain forests and meadows to the west expanded across 1,450 acres.Two other wildfires in canyons west of Fort Collins and Denver were mostly contained Monday.But dry conditions and high winds threatened to drive new fires. The driver of a Tesla allegedly fled the scene of a fiery crash on the Sunset Strip early Monday where one of his passengers died, authorities said.The crash was reported around 2:30 a.m. on the 8200 block of Sunset Boulevard near Roxbury Road, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, who is handling the investigation. The driver was heading west on Sunset when he lost control, struck a lamp post and a tree and the vehicle burst into flames.A woman who was in the front seat was trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene, while two other women were able to escape.They were taken to a hospital, where one is listed in critical condition and the other is listed as being stable, police said in an update. 33-Year-Old Man Dies after DUI Accident on Villa StreetSALINAS, CA (April 3, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, authorities arrested Annie Kerr following a fatal DUI crash on West Market Street.The incident happened on March 26th, at around 2:00 p.m., near the intersection of West Market Street and Villa Street.According to reports, 32-year-old Kerr was traveling eastbound on West Market with her small SUV when she collided head-on with a vehicle with three male occupants.As a result, one man died and the two occupants suffered injuries with a 31-year-old man left in critical condition.
