The total amount of damage was estimated at $200.MAY 2Possession of a stolen vehicle, controlled substance and drug paraphernalia; reckless evading; non-injury hit and run collision; resisting an officer: At 10 a.m., deputies responded to an automated license plate reader notification for a stolen vehicle at Saratoga Avenue and Highway 85. The vehicle, which was stolen out of Sunnyvale, was located a short time later. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not yield. A pursuit ensued, and the suspect recklessly evaded until losing control of the vehicle and crashing into a light pole, at which time the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Central Broward mother awaits justice on another Mother’s Day As Mother’s Day 2023 approaches, a mother in Central Broward continues to wait for justice after her daughter was shot in a drive-by shooting nearly a year ago.Dru’Niyyia Griffin, 20, was critically injured on May 8, 2022, when another vehicle drove by and fired multiple shots at her parked car outside the house of someone they were visiting in unincorporated Central Broward near Fort Lauderdale. Griffin suffered several gunshot wounds and was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. She remains hospitalized as she has been paralyzed from the neck down as a result of the shooting and requires long-term care, including being fed from a feeding tube.
